A truck that old with a tail gate in that condition?! That is one awesome truck.

I too marveled at that tailgate. Most of the pickups I drag home need about two days of welding and straightening and a length of 3/4 black pipe for the bottom. And that's just to get them serviceable, not pretty.

my 49 was a service truck for a napa dealer in western tn and the body of the bed was beat to death from sliding loads but the tailgate was very good
