I realize this are early, but I am a '40 guy so I don't have much experience with older Fords. So what year or years would these be ? Thank you.

Measure the depth for a "close" figure.

If they measure 11 inches they are late '31...if they measure 12 inches they are '32 or later...

They measure about 11 3/4" in depth, so would those be A or later EV8 ? Thank you all !

The 11" or 12" measurement referred to above is the inside diameter of the drum where the brake shoes/linings fit, not the depth of the drum/hub assembly. Further, nothing after the '32-'34 version have that identical exterior appearance.

I think it may be a mis spelling of 1-3/4" If that is the width they are 32-34 and made for 1-1/2" shoes.

Mart,
That makes sense (that it isn't eleven, but rather one). |

To clarify what I mean by depth; The width of the swept area of the brake shoe in the ID of the drum is 11 3/4". So are we in agreement they are '32-34 ? Thank you.

Like Mart said do you mean 1 3/4" width not 11 3/4" and what is the diameter?

Sorry, the width of the swept area for the shoes in the ID of the drum is 1.750, or 1 3/4".

The easiest dimension for establishing whether or not they are Model A drums or '32-'34 drums is the inside diameter of the swept area. If that diameter is not 12" or a slight fraction over 12" (from wear) then they are not '32-'34 drums.

Thank you. I miked the ID of the swept area and it was 12.000", which makes sense as the OD is thick. I have several other pairs and they are all over 12.000" ID. I appreciate everyone's help and patience.

'32-'34 and if you want to sell those measuring 12.000" that are not scarred, I'm your buyer, please.
