I'd like to swap to the grease fitting type '36 springs anyways.

The front and rear traverse springs are getting swapped out as soon as I get the chance. I like the cars sitting as they were built.

Sorry, I meant are they lowered stock springs or some sort of aftermarket type?

Since we are asking... I like blackwalls and white walls, if they are wide whites. 1-2" is for 60s cars. Seems a mild trend now is blackwalls. After people only see blackwalls for a decade we might be back to whitewalls.

. I like wide whites on cars enless they have a sorta a vintage hotrod vibe then blackwalls. Trucks mostly blackwalls.

Just my opinion.

Presently there are Ford (oem) springs installed. However, they are "tired" and as such, are allowing the car to sit too low.
I will be installing NOS (Ford oem) springs to restore the designed ride height.

You can buy single sided whitewalls, and if you don't like the look of whitewalls just flip em around so blackwall is out. I'm going to go with blackwall look next tire change!

Some cars, along with their colors and equipment choices, just are not made for a "happy ending" when it comes to flipping a coin to make a selection between BLACK and WW tires. When looking at the two representative examples below, BLACK would suck big-time on a car the caliber of Kube's new 'SWEETIE'. It's also apparent that those new springs will get Sweetie up to a happy altitude. DD

Did you notice in the photos posted by Coopman that the two cars sporting blackwalls do not have the Spyder hubcaps and trim/beauty rings as seen on the car with whitewalls? Without these two items the blackwall tires don't present very well. I recall back in the sixties when chrome reverse wheels were all the rage, few people, very few people, would run them with whitewall tires for fear of being laughed at - they just didn't look very good with whitewalls - no contrast....

Look again.... "the TWO cars" is only ONE car. That is a mirrored wall on the left side of that showroom. And if you'll remember, Kube's new "SWEETIE" is equipped with Spiders, just like in the pic I posted. DD

With spyder caps and trim rings it is the color of the car that is the more important determinant of the eye appeal of WSW versus BSW. The darker the color, the better the look of WSW. Pre-'36 it was the wheel color that had the most influence (i.e. WSW tires don't look that great on wire wheels in Tacoma cream).

The best part of V8COOPMAN's photo of a '36 roadster with spyders and WSWs is that they are the real thing, namely double as original. No fun to maintain, but nice to look at.

That roadster looks lovely. I prefer whitewalls on it. I think they go with the darker paint and the light top.

When I got my roadster I really struggled with changing it but decided any changes I made would be reversible and that in future if someone wanted to put it back to factory they could. I then got on and done what I wanted to do to it.

I'd installed the NOS rear spring today and am thrilled at the results. Center with the rear wheel to the bottom of the fender... a full 2" increase in height.
Tomorrow I'll attempt to get the NOS front spring in.
