Anyone know where to get the channel strips for seat springs? I don't know the actual name for this part. They're used on the coils of the seat springs to hold them in position. Snyders is making them out of aluminum but they're not being offered for sale. It's a steel/aluminum strip that's folded over but not closed. It gets crimped over the spring coil. A very cheap and simple part to make, but I can't find them anywhere.

Are these what you mean? If so, and you can't get them from Snyder's, you might as well make your own. I believe they're the supplier of seat springs for all the other dealers. These look easy enough to make. I'd expect steel to hold better than aluminum.

Thanks Steve, But no! that not it. They are cushion spring clips and I have them. They are made by Au-ve-co in Cold Spring, Ky. The part I'm looking for is more a strip that's been bent over to make a channel. When put over the edge of a coil spring and then crimped they become a stabiliser bar for the coils. These are in various lengths. AV-VE-co makes na lot of this kind of stuff for auto seats including Hog Rings. But no channels as far as I can tell.

If you are talking about the bottom channel that is the same size as the seat cushion. A good sheet metal shop can use a wire roll machine on a 1/2" strip of mild steel sheet metal to create a "U" shaped channel that attaches to the spring (bent over on each spring). The clips mentioned above are used to attach all internal springs. The rolled channel you are describing forms the spring framework. Bring an example to a good sheet metal shop. Good luck.
