What kind of horn is this?
I have this as a spare but I'm spring cleaning and don't think I'll ever use it.

Re: What kind of horn is this?
It looks just like my Sparton horn. That one looks VERY clean and nice.

Re: What kind of horn is this?
Yes, I plan to sell it. There are no rivet holes in the cover, My coupe has a Sparton and has the label. It has a few scuffs here and there but does look really nice, I think it may be powder coated? The cover fits very tight, I think because the paint is so think. I connected it to some power, the motor runs but it doesn't make a very good "ahooga" sound. I don't know what it's worth?
I made a little video ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOjKTPaDsOA |

Re: What kind of horn is this?
There should be an ID on the area where the bolts connect it together. Steward Warner, Ames, etc had stamping in the flat area at the bottom. If there are not 2 small rivet holes in the motor cover or a plate riveted to to it, it isn't a Sparton. If you have a copy of the Judging Standards, there is a section 19 that describes all the features of the various horned used on model A's.

Re: What kind of horn is this?
I made a little video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOjKTPaDsOA
Sounds like it needs a little tuning. First I would grease the ratchet as it seems the motor is stopping too soon. Then try adjusting the screw one click at a time in and out and see what sounds best. Some new gaskets are too thick, and that can affect the sound. Ensure the diaphragm is clocked properly with the drain hole at 6 o’clock.

Re: What kind of horn is this?
Looks to be an Ames. 1.250 (actually a little larger and not consistent from both sides and top) of motor bracket, and a .3125 shaft.

Re: What kind of horn is this?
The video actually doesn't do it justice, sounds better in person. I took it apart and added a little grease to the ratchet and assembled the electrical connection insulators properly.

Re: What kind of horn is this?
Your horn sounds like mine which is also a Ames. There are 3 locations usually with the Ames diamond shape stamped on it all of which I wouldn't bother scratching that nice paint off. I found doubling the gaskets supplied from the vendors help the sound quite a bit. It would be a good idea to put a drop of locktite on the bolts holding the horn to the bracket, I experienced that problem and nearly lost my horn.
