How do I remove the driver's side window regulator on a 31 Model A Tudor?

Re: Remove window regulator
First steps would be to remove the handles and door card to get access to the hardware securing the regulator to the door. Once that is done you do a little fooling around to detach it from the window track and pull it out of the door. You will need the window crank handy to change the position of the reg to wiggle it off the track. I usually have the window blocked up safe so it cannot fall onto my digits.

Re: Remove window regulator
Would it be helpful to jam rubber wedges between the glass and the window frame to hold the glass?

Re: Remove window regulator
1. Remove the window crank, the door opener and the garnish molding.
2. Remove the door trim panel which is secured with spring clips around the edge of the panel. 3. Crank the window up about half way. Cut a piece of wood, with a notch at the top for the window, and sufficient length to reach the bottom inside of the door. 4. Insert the wood and bring the window down to rest in the notch. 5. Remove the three flat head screws (1/4-20) holding the regulator to the inside of the door panel. The regulator is now free to be removed. 6. It will take some playing to slide the regulator arm out of the window track. Take your time. 7. On the top of the door there is a close out panel secured with three short screws. Remove those screws and the panel and the window will slide up and out. Good luck |

Re: Remove window regulator
If it is anything like a Coupe, the real trick (mentioned in the instructions above) is to not forget to put the window in the half-up position. I tried the first time with the window up all the way thinking it would be out of the way....wrong.
