Fan belt for a 1922-23 T... which looks more authentic?
Sorry for the rather simple question but I searched and browsed the forum with no luck...
What is the correct type of fan belt used on 1922-23? While looking at Lang's catalog, I see the leather belts, I some 'endless belts that are made of neoprene impregnated polyester, dark brown, and also some sort of tan Heavy duty, 5-ply rubberized fabric material. Snyder' lists also a 5-ply material in red color. Macs list the 5-ply material in reddish tan and with the option of a Ford Script. Understanding that these modern synthetic material may be much better that what was originally used... Any clues as to which looks more close to the original belts supplied by Ford? Thanks! victor |

They all will look authentic after they get oil soaked and start fraying. At that point they all look the same. Here is a discussion that might answer your question:
