Default Painted Frame Today

Went with Eastwoods epoxy primer and 2k ceramic satin chassis black. So far I am very happy with the products. Sprayed really nice through a cheapo hvlp gun.

I'll post some better pictures once the hill billy paint booth comes down and it's sitting on jack stands.

Enjoy!

I agree, $10.00 8x19 Tarps from harbor freight and a box fan. Paint suit and respirator of course!

Good work! You're on your way to great things to come. If you're like me sometimes it doesn't always go so well...

"And when you're in a Slump, you're not in for much fun.Un-slumping yourself is not easily done." - Dr. Seuss

Un-slumping yourself happens here at the Ford Barn, thanks to these great people.

Enjoy!

Very nice job - and resourceful! I flipped my frame and gave the bottom a special nice finish since it's all you'll see when the car is done. I still bend down to admire it from time to time!
Enjoy

Can't really be a "hillbilly paint booth" with a concrete floor unless you are one of the "uppity" hillbillies. Painting the frame is a big step in a restoration. From now on everything is positive, putting the car back together, rather than negative, tearing it apart. Good luck with your project.

I really like the way your frame came out. Very nice job and should hold up well. Can't wait to get my frame finished. I've already bought and like you have used, Eastwood's Satin Ceramic 2k primer and 2K Chassis Black. It will go on this spring when I get the final riveting done. I like your simple way of hanging the frame; think I'll try it and flip it to do the other sides. My paint booth is one of those portable vinyl garages with a filtered fan at one end.

As a footnote, I've had better luck with Eastwood's Chassis Black Satin 2K ceramic than I have with the 2K ceramic in Gloss. The Gloss began to cure within 10 minutes of mixing and while I was spraying. Never took my HVLP gun apart so fast in my life! First I thought I mixed it wrong but it did the same thing the second time. Eastwood did right by sending another quart at no charge but I've not used it yet. Like I said, the satin sprayed nice with other parts I've painted.

Thanks for the positive words everyone! I hope the pictures help others approaching this step in their restoration!

Cheers!

How much chassis black did it take to paint the frame?

A quart through an HVLP gun @ 30 psi, Two medium wet coats, No reducer.

It sprayed really nice.
