Default 15 inch wheels

i found a pair of 15 inch wheels with 5 1/2 bolt pattern.
will they fit on the front of a 1930 a with stock brake drums?

That could be dangerous to answer without knowing what they are from. They are probably Ford truck from the fifties, maybe Mercury or Lincoln. The thing you will probably need is a spacer to account for the raised area on the stock model A drums. Some people grind of the raised ring but I hate to see that done to stock parts (probably just me). This is important, don't leave home without doing something.

I covered this in a post on HAMB that you should read. The post actually deals with putting wire wheels on later drums where you are trying to do the reverse. A different spacer is needed but even more important. People report having problems finding this other spacer (see archives) but it is even more important for what you are doing.

thanks for the reply...i'm not going to do anything to modify
the drums. i was just curious. my 30 a coupe is stock and
will stay that way...thanks again

Just to reiterate for the sake of safety....
Then there aren’t many non-spoke rims (if any besides the rare Michelin and artillery type) that will fit without a mod/adapter. And by fit I mean what Mr. Stevens covers very well in his article. Just because they slip over the lug studs and center hub does not make them safe. .
