I switched to a 6 blade plastic
![]() I dont like it to much, but i got a driver... Why does this 6 blade fan have a smaller diameter? To get off the old two-blade i tried it with Les Andrews and : "a little Tap on the backside of the pulley". I knew before, that that wouldnt help. Then i did investigate in a "knock off tool" from the vendors. Should there be a thread in there??? How to use that????????? Thank you Christoph |

Hi Cristoph
To use the tool you have the remove the water pump from the engine. Remove the nut that holds the fan, install the tool (it has treads) and hit it with a hammer and the fan will come off easy. .. |

Hi Joop
ok - thank you In my "knock-off" was a hole - no thread. Seems to be a quality tool ![]() Little "how to use" to arrive with the tool would have been nice I thought that there should be a thread and i thought i would destroy the pump by using that. Managed to get it off anyway Thank you Christoph |

You can make your own tool. Get a bolt about an inch and a half long with the same thread size as the pump shaft, along with two nuts. Remove the water pump from the engine. Remove the nut from the end of the pump shaft. Screw one of the new nuts onto the pump shaft about half way. Screw the bolt in until it touches the end of the pump shaft. Use the second nut to lock it in place. Sit in a chair and place the fan blades across your knees and allow the pump to hang down. Tap on the end of the bolt briskly a few times and it should break loose.
