Default Antique Air Compressor?

Is anyone familiar with this antique air compressor. I looked it over last year on my way to the Iola swap meet, but passed on it for $40 as it needed some work and appeared to be missing some parts. Is it supposed to have a cast iron cover?

Tom, I definitely do not know anything about it but does the date of 1907 seem plausible? Maybe that is a patent date but the electric motor looks more "styled" than other electric motors I have seen in the pre-teen era. And, was 110 volt AC current popular at that time?

Also, seeing the pressure gauge max out at 50 lbs makes me also wonder as most of the high-pressure clincher tires/tubes during that era up through the mid-teens all used a minimum of 50 lbs. You would think it should be more in-line with 75 lbs.

It is a cool piece of automobilia, and my guess is it will 'jarr the ground' with all the automotive-styled man caves out there begging for something like this to be restored and displayed in a corner!
