Can anyone shed light on where I can purchase an alternator bracket kit for my 292 Y-block engine & what alternator to use.

https://www.qualitypowerauto.com/ite...-and-newer.htm Not cheap but I've used them for GM alternators and brackets for several 8ba flatheads as well as a 3g alternator for the 302 in my Ranch Wagon. But not positive this one will work on a Y block or not. Best to give them a call.

Perhaps something to consider - a possible alternative is a PowerGen alternator, I had one installed on my '56 about 15-20 years ago. Looks like the generator & used the original brackets. Costly but can't remember what I paid for it back then.
