Default Rearview mirror bracket question

Does anyone know if the inside rearview mirror bracket used on a 28/29 closed cars (i.e. coupes/tudors) is also used on a 28/29 CCPU? The judging guidelines don't explicitly specify it, but says style B is used for "closed cars other than the next three lines" which are cabriolets, fordors and town cars. It seems like that would include CCPU's in the closed cars category. Thanks for any help.

Rusty, the 28-29 CC Pickups didn't have a mirror on the inside, only the outside mirror mounted on the pillar, or the earlier model that mounted with the visor screws.

I have always used a 28-29 style on my 29 CC, but due to the angle of the truck (high in the rear from the heavy spring) I thought the longer 30-31 inside rear view mirror might work better to see through the small rear window.

Rusty, I was just looking up the same thing in the J S yesterday. Thanks Dan for the info.

We are accustomed to having mirrors everywhere these days, but when the model A was built, only one mirror was provided. Cars had an inside mirror only, and trucks had an outside mirror only. This was probably because the truck cab was the same on pickups and on AA trucks, and many of the AA trucks had bodies on the back that blocked the rear window, so an outside mirror was the logical choice. Today most of us have accessory mirrors on both sides of the car, as well as the inside mirror, which is great for safety, but not as the car was delivered.

Thanks, Dan, Ed and 2manycars for the help. My CCPU is under a tarp and hard to get to right now. I saw a nice restorable rearview mirror bracket on eBay and thought I might bid on it for my pickup. I didn't realize that 28/29 CCPU's didn't have an inside rearview mirror. I am learning new things all the time. Kind of keeps you humble.
