My 1929 unrestored station wagon is missing the inside bottom flat bracket that has the 2 square holes that hold the body to frame carriage bolts.
Does anyone have that flat bracket for sale that I could weld onto my pillar? I would consider buying a whole door pillar if it was located near southern California. Thanks, Neil |

The good side. Notice the square carriage bolts holes.

Note: The bottom of the door pillar might be the same from other 28/29 Ford body styles.

I can't tell if it has been cut off or it is the whole part gone, use the side you do have as a pattern and make the other side.

I checked with Bert's. They dont have one at the moment.
The lower driver's side flat section has been broken off. I would prefer to find an original section. If I cannot find one then as suggested, I will have to use the other side as a pattern. I appreciate the suggestions. |

GT40David,
You are absolutely right, but I may not be able to buy one separate. Neil |

Not as many station wagons out there as coupes or tudors. I would look for a regular Coupe A pillar reinforcement and then cut the piece you need and weld it to the wagon reinforcement piece that's left. That is likely a fairly thick gauge of metal but it could be sourced. Fabricate a radius to bend the right angle in a vise then trim and weld as necessary. Square holes can be filed from smaller round ones for the carriage bolts. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Thank you for all the advice and for the compliment.
I'm restoring the running gear, but plan on leaving the body with the original patina. |

Try Bill's Model Acres Ford Farm, Watsontown, PA 570-538-3200. He may be able to help. He is old school so you may have to mail him a copy of the picture but he has a lot of cars and he may be able to get you a part from one of those. Hope this help.

The bracket looks similar to the Australian bodies that had a wooden frame for local content, and used coach bolts.

Check with Michael at Early Ford Store in San Dimas. He might have one lying around. He's working on his wagon now. https://www.earlyfordstore.com/
I don't know what Moss in Orange has sitting around. |

I found a similar bracket. I cut out the missing section and a neighbor help weld it in place.
