Muffler
Hey guys hope all is well! Quick question….
I couldn’t help but notice at Model A days in Michigan that some of the Model A’s Ran so nice and quiet and others were noticeably louder. Some were very nice cars but seemed louder then others. My car is a little on the louder side but the exhaust is in very good condition. Is their an after market exhaust or any slightly different original style that runs more quiet? Any info would be much appreciated. |

Re: Muffler
I was reading recently that Ford engineers designed the Model A muffler to enhance performance of the Model A engine by reducing unwanted back-pressure. While other styles of mufflers will work, they can actually inhibit or restrict the power output of the Model A engine.

Hello, I have a Aries muffler on my 31 roadster, fit right to manifold and sounds like a typical Model A .Years ago some repro mufflers didn’t fit right or last that long I am talking about early 1970,s
