I was looking on Snyders for a new throw out bearing for my Model AA truck with a 4 speed. Their listing specifically said would not fir a AA with 4 speed. So I looked on a few outer sites such as Mikes, Macs, and Brattons and they don't say anything about theirs not fitting a AA with 4 speed. I do not have the engine out yet so I don't have a number to cross reference. So I wanted to see if anyone else has run across this particular issue and what they did. This also made me curious about the clutch disc and pilot bearing if they are the same as a Model A of if I need a unique disc and pilot bearings as well. I know I can figure it out when I pull the engine but was hoping to have the parts on hand for a 1 day swap out.
Thanks for your advice. |

The throwout bearing collar is different for a 4 speed, but I think the bearing is the same from 29 to 48. The pilot bearing is the same,a nd the clutch plate is the same.

I just checked the '32 parts list, and it verifies 2many of course.
That part list works by subtraction...any part that is the same as passenger car is not listed in the AA/BB section, which in this case shows the special collar and no bearing. |

What is different is the AA uses a shorter throwout carrier return spring, should you need to replace that. And the clutch release shaft is slightly different, but the bushings are the same...
