I'm considering selling my 1931 4 door Phaeton. Can anybody offer any guidance as to the price. It's in excellent condition.
Thanks |

The mechanical condition is very good. It has been completely redone as an frame off restoration. Engine rebuilt etc... new top and interior from LeBaron Bonney. I have attempted to upload a couple of pictures.
Thanks, Mike |

Blind 'Ball Park' estimate of between $22,000 to $26,000 for an older restoration that is still in excellent condition.

I agree with Doug too. There was a very nicely restored one at the Owls Head Museum auction last fall that sold in the 23,000 range.

I live in the south, I don't think they will bring that much unless someone is really looking for one. I have owned one for over 20 years, have bought and sold A's for over 30 years and I am seeing the market continue to decline, probably around $20K Bob

You can ask ANY price, but getting it, is another STORY!
2 GUYS were at the table, counting out STACKS of $100 bills & the buyer CHANGED his mind---LOL Bill W.

A 29 sold in my area last summer for $18.5K, I drove it, was mechanically like brand new, fender paint new, body paint was a 5-footer, top in fair condition.

Nice car regardless of market trends. I would say low to mid 20s as has been suggested above. I have seen a handful of later V-8 phaetons in older restoration condition in the high 20s in the past 2 - 3 months - relevant only because they generally trade a bit higher than our Model As. So a soft market there I think does make a difference with our cars.

A price of $25,000 that does not sell in several months does say something.
A LOT goes into what constitutes the 'Market Place'. Economy, trends, fads, age of market, age of buyers, etc. Sometimes it is quite difficult to judge correctly. If a house sits on the market for several months and does not sell, the R.E. agent who reads the current market place, generally recommends that the seller lower his price to meet the market. |

Right now, on the FORD BARN classified SWAP MEET, there is listed a really nice looking Restored '31 Roadster for sale - $17,000. It is even the color that I like - Washington/Riviera Blue.
