Default Change in 1928 Splash Aprons...

Just when was the change from using "blocks" on the early 1928 Splash Aprons made to where the Splash Aprons just sat on the frame?

And would it be safe to say that there WAS NOT any type of Anti-Squeak material on the early Splash Apron Assembly?

Can someone post a photo of the early set-up?

Thanks.
