Once you have removed anyone sitting on the seat (who said humor is dead?) you might try the following:

a. Untack the package tray cover, if secured - as mine is - to the back of the upright seat cushion;

b. Remove the bottom seat cushion (see first photo below; yes I realize I have non-standard seat cushion retainers);

c. Unscrew the 12 fasteners (6 per side) attaching the bottom seat frame to the seat tracks (see second photo below);

d. Remove the retaining ring and unthread the seat adjuster from the bracket attached to the bottom seat frame (see third photo below, which shows the seat adjuster reinserted into the seat pan portion of the adjustment mechanism so it doesn't get lost);

e. Lift out the seat assembly (best done with the help of another person, preferably not sitting on the seat...)

I'm certain that if I've overlooked anything, someone more knowledgeable will jump in and correct the situation, but this is how I recall removing the seat a couple of years ago.

[Please note that the first photo was taken from the opposite side of my 1930 coupe from the other two photos, just to add confusion to this post.]

Mine wasn't tacked to the package tray. I don't know if that was the original way or not. Bill W.
