Default 1933 Headlight wiring

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

Im in the process of wiring my 33 sedan. The new headlight harness (and all new harnesses it seems) are for two bulb headlights, and I have single bulb headlights. No one seems to make a single bulb headlight pigtail either. Am I missing something?
Are the harnesses universal, and I just dont need that 3rd wire when running a singe bulb headlight? The stock harness is still in the car, and it doesnt have the 3rd wire coming out of it. That makes me wonder if the little disk that goes onto the bottom of the steering would be wired the same.

Anyone with some experience here?

One bulb and two bulb headlamp wiring harnesses are quite different. The one-bulb version was used with vehicles with cowl lamps (generally deluxe models) and the two-bulb version was used on vehicles without cowl lamps (generally standard models).

Both harnesses for '33 fours and V8s are available as high quality reproductions from Rhode Island Wiring in Narraganset (riwire.com). They also offer the two versions of the sockets/wire that attach to the headlamp reflectors. They have long lead times and they are expensive, but you get what you pay for.

David - Was the one vs. two bulb set up also the same for '34?

Yes, the one bulb headlamps with cowl lamps and two bulb headlamps without cowl lamps wiring, reflectors and socket wires were the same for both the '33 and '34 models.

Likely not how it was built. If it is/was a standard model, cowl lights may have been added post production, like your bumper guards (which weren't released until early in the '34 model year).
