Default T-170 RTS adapter

The first pic is the stock stamped steel 49-51 Ford housing. The second is the finished housing with the ears welded on and nuts welded to the back side. A skim cut on the mill insures everything is flat.

Sod's law that all the holes fall on the radiused edge. At least you can "work" with steel.

Nice job, Ol' Ron.

The lower holes went right into the Ford housing and we welded nuts on the back

Good idea Ron. I never thought of using a cane to hold down the part I was working on.

Nice job!!

I never noticed that in the picture. I use it to get to the shop from the house, there's allot of ice out there.

Some of those transmissions come with a dual bolt pattern, the old narrow set and the newer wide set. The narrow set is much easier to adapt. 3 of the 4 holes align perfectly.

Just to let you know. the housing has to be bored larger to except the front bearing retainer. I could have turned down the retainer but that put the bolt holes very close to the edge.
