Default 1941 Ford super deluxe coupe

How do you take the trunk lever off the trunk to get it rechromed? Thank you for all the help.

Assuming you have the same handle as on my sedan, then open the trunk lid and there is a very large nut that's around two inches across the flats. Mine was finger tight. Remove the nut and the handle pulls straight out. You can then remove the bezel and license plate light.

That is correct but I can not get a tool into the nut location. Any thing special I need to get or do to loosen the nut.

If a large wrench will not fit, you can use a small chisel and hammer to try to tap it loose. This will probably mar the nut however. It should not be extremely tight (unless corroded)

Can you get some sort of "nut free" spray in there? That may help. Another option is to apply some heat from a propane torch and then give it a little whack with a hammer and punch. Sometimes that will free up frozen nuts.

Or you could apply the heat correctly.

I used channel-lock pliers to loosen.
