Default '39 wire control dash knobs ??

My '39 dlx has those wire push/pull controls for choke/throttle. Would like replacement, but not made. Solution?? go to '40 rod style or rebuild the wire type. replace the knobs?? What have you fellows done? Newc

Newc, what you have is the early style. No doubt, you knew that.
I too had that style on the wagon I'd restored. I rebuilt what I had. Easy enough.
I bought the choke cable at the local tractor supply store. It's available by the foot.
Amazon also sells it if that's easier for you to source.

Kube, could you give a brief description of what/how you did this. I've had this situation come along on several old car and truck resurrections . Tim

The end at the carburetor I had slipped the "ball and spring" over the wire and soldered a "cup" at the end of the wire. Used a ball end mill to shape it nicely. Worked quite well and smoothly.
