Default Looking for info on Vern Hamlin

Read a story about a 1931 Cabriolet 68C owner who got inspired by
Vern Hamlin.

Would love to know some more about him like where he lived when he passed and what cars he owned.

Thanks for your help.

Found this in a 1973 paper:

Vern Hamlin,
Route 1, Box 431 A,
Oscoda, Mich. 48750
phone 1-517-739 5526

I also found your post by Mike Brandt that you read that stated Vern Hamlin passed in the 70s. Perhaps you should find Mike Brandt.

Quote:
I grew up in Michigan in the 60s and 70s, and joined the MARC Model A club as a teen. My Mentor was a Vern Hamlin, who had a perfectly restored 31 Cabriolet with the same Bronson Yellow/Seal Brown combination. He did all the paint himself, and often repainted small parts more than once if they did not come out perfectly. His 2 car garage was an immaculate Model A restoration center, and I was completely mesmerized by it all one winter evening when he patiently showed me the restoration process. A few years later, I headed off to college in the upper peninsula, and while I was gone, Vern passed away, and I never heard where his car ended up: I believe his wife must have sold it. Someone must have his car today, and with a few exceptions such as some of the chrome trim, it looked identical to the car pictured above.
