Recent transplant from NH to the tri-cities area of Tennessee. Old time hotrodder, HAMB & Garage Journal member. Poking around on here to see what goes on. Just finished a muscle car project and might be looking for a Model A to chop up. Don't shoot !

Welcome. I'm a new model A guy from nebraska. I'm into vintage tin from stock to hot rodded. I just love vintage American automobiles.

Welcome to the Ford Barn, It will take a while to meet everyone, lot different than the HAMB, but still has helpful people. Bob

Welcome! Like roadster62 said, the forum is a bit different, but so is a stock Model A! If you spend some time in a stock model A that has been properly restored mechanically you might be surprised how fun it is! I'm younger than most on here and I like customs, muscle cars, loud horsepower etc. but this is a whole different brand of fun. They certainly attract their own unique brand of attention from the public too.

Hey Bill thanks for your honesty. Im a JJ, HAMB and member here and its three very different groups. Here things are a lot more polite and friendly with a real focus on restored old fords. Talk of chopping one up will always be a tough sell here. Having said that there are some of us that apprecaite both restored and rodded cars just as I love my very original 58 pan and my 65 pan which is going a long way from stock. Seems you'd save a good one which is great!

good to have you here. I also am on the HAMB and sometimes the garage journal. I like bone stock classics, muscle cars , and hot rodded stuff . THE TRI CITIES area is a great car place. lots of cool old stuff ldown there. Back in the nineties I bought a 66 cyclone down in Bristol and drove it home. I still wish I had kept that car.

Hello, and Welcome.
I agree, it would be a travesty to cut up any vintage vehicle to rod it. There are so many failed projects out there available that can be built. I love classic Rods as well and have built a few bikes. Where were you from in NH? I am still stuck here You might he interested in building a Speedster. Fun to build on a budget, fun to drive, can be mildly rodded without permanently destroying parts, and are always attention getters at cruise nights.

I've relayed this before but I took my 28 speedster to a Wed night cruise-in and parked next to a $60,000 'vette. I didn't realize it til someone mentioned all the activity around "that car". To my surprise they were walking around and looking at the speedster and not the "vette. I didn't chop anything up but used a combination of various "cast offs" and new parts. No complete A was used in the creation of this speedster. |
