When I attach the light switch spider, spider spring and spider retainer on to the light switch rod, the horn button/light switch handle is flush with the top of the steering wheel. But when I attach the light switch body and bail, it pushes the light switch rod up so that the horn button/light switch sticks up about a quarter of an inch. Then when driving it starts to rattle and drives me crazy. What is the cause and is there a fix? This happened after having someone rebuild the steering box ( 2 Tooth on a 30 town sedan ).

Light rods come in different lengths. Are you using the same one you used before the rebuild, or did you buy a new one? Do you have an early 30 with a 29 setup?

Am using the same one that was on there before the rebuild. Everthing looks perfect before I put on the light switch body, - I even tried a different light switch body upper half but it made no difference.

Do the lights work when the rod pops up?
