Default What size is 48-6211-B?

Can anyone tell me what size the B extension is? The green bible doesn't list it.

And what if there's a number behind it? Like 48-6211-X3 for example.

Thanks.

Dennis

The -B suffix is 0.003" under size as listed in the 37 parts book. It is possible the 3 indicates the material composition of the bearing, I am not sure. Often Ford added the number suffix to indicate what company made the part that would be sold by Ford. This is not always the case.

this is from 28-37 parts book published in 1945
there could be other options in other books
there are choices of bearing material, I think later that there were other choices of bearing materials added

Kurt, any chance I could get a better resolution of that photo of the parts book? When I download it, I can't read it.

I have tried to format this but the forum insists on removing the spaces that make this easy to read. These are the dimensions I have found in various Ford catalogs for 221 floating rod bearings:

suffix, crank under, rod over
A Std. Std.
B .003 Std.
C .010 Std.
D .003 .004
E .010 .008
F .003 .008
G .010 .004
J Std. .004
K Std. .008
L .002 Std.
M .020 Std.
N .020 .004
P .020 .008
Q .030 Std.
T .030 .004
V .002 Std.
X .002 Std.
JJ .002 .008
KK .040 Std.
