Lightbulb What 28-29 roadster hardware do I use? (Cowl post bolts) (rear cross brace rivets)

Can anyone tell me part number # and supplier, or sizing of the correct bolts, that fasten the cowl post to front cowl panel

Also wondering the (correct rivets) that hold the rear Sub Frame Channel - Rear Crossmember - Fits Below Outer Panel At End Of Subrails to quarter panels

All mentioned are circled in attached photos

Thanks

One of the best things you could invest in is Les Andrews Books. Book 1 is a MUST and Book 2 would answer a lot of the body questions, etc you are going to have. I have a 29 Roadster that had been in a garage for 40 years. Had to have a new top and front seat and back done, but other that that it is still original. Somehow the rumble seat upholstery was still like new. Don't know if there is a club anywhere near you but if so highly recommend joining it.

Hanson Rivet has the different size and head style of rivets used for model A production. Rivet tooling is available as hand tooling from the vendors and pneumatic hammer tooling is available from most aircraft tool sources.

Third Gen Automotive took over Roy Nacewicz's Ford bolt reproductions but a lot of model A sources have their stuff too.

Hello roto wrench I will look into those books, I already have a few rivet guns, bucking bars ect,
just wondered if I can get a accurate rivet size and head , I could put any rivet in it but really looking for someone to chime in with the correct information, thanks

I do believe that the body lower frame work was put together with 1/4" round head rivets with exceptions to the front extensions and floor pans. This would include the sub-rail channels and the aft sub-rail cross member to the sub-rails. It doesn't hurt to buy them long since they almost always need to be trimmed to get the protrusion spec of 1 to 1 1/2-the diameter of the rivet. 1-D will work where the holes are new and tight or where there are no more than two thicknesses joined. With loose holes or multi thicknesses then closer to 1 1/2-D is better. The smaller 3/16 brazzer heads are used for pans

Here is a link to Bratton's for an example.

Big Flats Rivet Co. is another good source for model A rivets.
