Just wondering how many folks are going to the MARC meet in Canada.
Also interested in how many are not going because of the added restrictions, i.e., passports, which bridges to take; birth certificates, declaring goods, etc. I will not be going this year because of a very serious attack of pancreatitis that landed me in the hospital for 15 days with 11 in ICU. I am recovering slowly but not doing much traveling. Have a great meet, Everest!! |

I am not going solely because of the restrictions and the rate of the rooms for those of us that did not make it into the block of rooms that was initially reserved. I feel certain it will be an enjoyable meet however this year just was not meant to be for me. See everyone in Ohio in 2016.

Look forward in going to the MARC meet in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Gorgeous area for the A's.
I cross the border frequently and it's not difficult. Bridges and wait times are readily available. A good value for US residents to visit because of the favorable exchange rate.

I am going and driving my Town Sedan. It will be the longest trip by far I have taken in the car. I fly every week for work and also travel internationally a couple of times a year, so the border can't be that much of an issue. I already have a passport.
I got my registration notice. I am number 325. I hope there are a lot more registrations than 325. I am going because it is close enough and the location. My wife wants to go to Niagara Falls. I am staying at a Marriott because I have a good number of Marriott points and it supposedly has a great view of the falls. It will be my first national meet and I am looking forward to it. |

We are heading to the meet from Northern Ontario - only 14 hours drive by modern vehicle - towing 1930 Town Sedan in enclosed trailer - not enough time available to drive the car down plus it is a low mileage car
Registration number 44 Should be a great meet We never have any problems crossing the border - always use our passport and be honest and of course NO firearms into Canada. We go regularly against the border at Pigeon River south of Thunder Bay to pick up parcels across the border - a lot cheaper shipping there instead of shipping over the border into Canada with additional brokerage fees. Just pay sales tax back into Canada - no duty on antique or North American built vehicle and no duty on electrical train (e.g. Lionel) - just sale tax |

I can't make it, but for those going, be sure to pay a visit to this steam museum in Hamilton.

The Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology is great - we have been there several times. There is also an outdoors model train set up nearby

We are giddy, and can't wait to go. I requested a "Canada non-resident motor vehicle liability insurance" card from Hagerty. They sent it in a couple of days at no charge. It may not even be necessary, but it makes me feel better.

For those coming to Canada for the meet, the exchange rate is great for people from the USA
At the moment the US Dollar is worth 25% more in Canada with the exchange rate than the Canadian Dollar Also remember, it is best to exchange your US dollars for Canadian dollars before you cross the border, just like we normally do in reverse before we cross into the US. It will be easier to deal in Canadian dollars while in Canada than having to deal with conversion when you get to Canada trying to use US Dollars |

They also gave currency exchange booths when entering Canada. That way you are guaranteed close to the international exchange rate whereas mist businesses will only pay a fraction. Wayne

This is a great meet and the rumors to go to Canada are ridiculous..Its NOT too expensive with the exchange rate at all. You need either a passport or a 30 day passport card. PERIOD...A drivers license as you would need anywhere and your insurance card that you would also need anywhere, that is IT!!!! There are too many false rumors going around. The rates are now as of today 18% better for US that means the 129.99 Room rate ONLY costs 103.55 for americans.. That is a good deal the way i see it. Hope to see many of your their and don't forget your FORDBARN BUTTONS!!!
