what product will clean the exterior of the carb to make it look new again?, still cant get some of the old grease stains off with other cleansers.

I do the same as Mitch.
I've heard oven cleaner is great for removing stains.

Guess you are asking about a Tilly because a Zenith would get painted. It would mean a new gasket kit and removing the carb but how about the type of cleaner you soak the carb in.

Soak in carb cleaner and rebuild. Not much to it.

I just used GooGone (citrus spray cleaner) and it was amazing how good it looked. Then I painted with flat black Rustoleum thinned with 1/3 gasoline.

This is an old trick for painting things that were once greasy, if you can't blast them. The gas bites through any greasy film and the paint sticks like crazy.

I have done engine blocks after cleaning this way and the paint never comes off or peels.

I soak mine in acetone over night. Then wire wheels sand blasting and air pressure through all the passages. Paint it with fuel proof model airplane dope.

Redbird, why did you remove the salt and pepper injectors from your carby? Did you find that they weren't helping?
