Years ago I bought 2 pair of 6 volt trumpet horns as a novelty. I call them trumpet horns because the horn parts are straight and range from 13 to 21 inches in length. I thought that they should have a musical sound to them, but mine just make a loud harsh sound. Is there some way to tune the diaphragms? There are no rotating parts.
One pair is made by the Sparks-Withington Co. of Jackson Michigan. One of this pair has a low resistance wire wound resistor that I suppose would change the frequency of the tone. Any ideas? |

I have not been able to get any sound out of the Jackson, Mich. horns. The wiring circuit is beyond me. When I open the points, the resistance (input to ground) stays at about 4 ohms. Crazy! I tried the horns on 12 volts and got no sound. |
