Default Valve guide question

When installing valve guides, should smear assembly lube inside the guide for the valve before I install it ?

The red book doesn't say to do so but I just want to make sure.

Doesn't hurt.

Just curious, are these one-piece or two piece that you are installing?

I lube every moving part, which reminds me, it's been a few months since I oiled the distributor cup.

I'd also lube the outside of the guides to make them slide into place easier.
