Default 29 Pick up body-What's it worth

I have a very straight 29 Pickup body It has surface rust but very few dents. It has some rustout in both cowl bottoms. Also very tiny holes in the rear corners. The doors are the best I have ever seen. They have no rust, the latches, felt, window lifts are all intact. I have the sunvisor, running boards, hood, radiator shell, front fenders and seats. I have a serious buyer but I don't know how to value it. Can someone give me an idea of how much I can get for it? I'm trying to raise money for another project.

Thanks for the help. Jay

I hate to price someone else's items, but if the doors are in really nice condition, they are worth probably $1000 a pair as CCPU doors in very good condition are rare and costly. With all the other items you listed, it all depends on the condition of the cab, shell, front fenders, etc. If I were to put a estimated price on your CCPU items (without seeing them or pictures of them, which is hard to do), I would say the cab and other things would bring $2000 to $2500. Again, this depends totally on the condition of the items. This is just a somewhat educated guess, since there are no pictures or condition of your items. I bought a complete unrestored 29 CCPU a year ago for $5200. The doors were so, so, not real bad, but needing a little rust repair on the bottoms, but not too rusted out. The cowl panels were rusted out (pretty normal for most 28/29 model A's) and a small spot on the rear of one cab corner. It sounds like your cab is similar to what mine was. I did get complete running gear, rear fenders (pretty good) and a so, so box with the pickup. Hope this helps.

A "serious buyer" generally means a 'serious offer'. These bodies are now being reproduced in its entirety and the one I saw looks very, very nice. So if you factor in the $8500 cost of the new one where no bodywork is necessary, and then figure out what the costs will be to bring yours into that condition, I think that puts you in the ballpark. Although you didn't mention what the fenders, hood, & boards were like but just doing an "armchair appraisal", probably somewhere between $6k-$8k for what you have.

Wow at these prices I'm better off dismantling my 30 coupe and sell it piece meal. I'm asking $12,000 for my complete, running coupe with no rust issues, and has everything rebuilt and looks great from 10 feet away. Only 2 people were interested. I'm thinking $25,000 if sold seperatly. Maybe more...

Very true, parts are always worth more than the whole. Price just body parts for your modern car and you will exceed the cost new. An ashtray for my 2002 lancer costs 85.00.

I saw one sold at an auction about 2 years ago go for about $2500 with a frame and axles that was in fair shape. But that was two years ago.

'30 coupe parts are common. '28/'29 truck cab parts and doors are few and far between.
