So Dad and I took our cars to the big annual local car show last Friday. There was like 200 cars there and I had the only A that wasn't all chopped and hacked. It's the first time we have had them in a show since the restorations. He took his new restored 68 Camaro SS 396 and I took my new restored 29 Tudor. The Camaro is beautiful and reeks of hot rod. It's all original restored and is a very near perfect car. My A is a decent restoration to, but the Camaro is stunning. Much to my surprise and my Dad's to I think, a lot more folks spent more time looking at the A and a bunch got their pictures made with it. I was shocked. Even the teenagers seemed to be more interested in the A. I have been kidding dad that we should trade even though the Camaro is worth double or more than the A. After the show I told him I would have to have a little boot with the trade :-).

Not often seen at regular car shows.

A few weeks back, I took my 29 Pick Up to the Good Guys Show that was in town, I was so amazed how many stopped, walked around, looked in the truck. More than any other show. I was the only non modified vehicle there. I guess they were bored of chrome and custom paint OR were they sizing it up for a CHOP?

It amazes me also how many stop to look at my A. My cabriolet gets a lot of attention. And trophies.

I noticed a lot of the muscle cars had the "Do Not Touch" signs on the cars. Just turns me off the car for some reason. I can understand if it was like a historic car or something, but a car sitting there on main street with a 1000 people walking around they gotta know it's going to be touched. I thought about making a sign that says "Go Ahead and Touch, Henry Ford Would Want You To and Fingerprints Wash Off". I even let people reach in and blow the horn sometimes and get in and get their pictures made. The last show I had one young guy said he wanted to drive it, I said the keys are in it. He looked at his parents then grinned and said "I better not".
