how to tell if running boards are original or repop?
I'm in the middle of a 1929 Tudor restoration. Tackling the chassis components and trying to figure out best option for the running boards. what I have are salvageable (heavy surface rust and need mat/trim). Appears based on searching that most of the vendors sell trim for repop boards and Bob Burdick sells good trim for original boards. Of course another option is go with new repop boards
I need to figure out if what I have is original or repop. Are there any clues/measurements I can make to determine? Thanks! |

Re: how to tell if running boards are original or repop?
Feel the outside lip, because the original boards have an offset half way down the lip. Most repro running boards just have a plain flat lip.
Rootlieb makes them correctly with the offset, and of course you pay more for it. |
