Hosepower
I seem to frequently read about boosting horse power on this forum. Those who are into this horsepower chasing may find this link interesting. Go to the 4th. paragraph for the Model A information. Sorry if this old news to others, but I was stunned when I read the article.

Haha, Not to many 'stock' parts left on the little 'Banger'. Thanks for sharing.

Probably the only thing left model A is the block. I would love to hear it at full song at Bonneville... |

Re: Hosepower
Of course, the article doesn't indicate the cost to make one of these 4 Bangers. You can build anything if you have the money. You could probably buy a nice stable of Fine Point Model A's for the cost of that engine!

Re: Hosepower
The article says A engines are 103 ci. Mine is 200 ci, how about yours?

Especially true, when you are using a nearly 90 yr old model A/B block ! If the truth of this is doubted, it can be vividly seen in pictures. Those familiar with FAST mag, may remember a 2004 issue (cover) showing colored pics of a B engine in TWO halves, i.e.- upper and lower ! Guess what that engine cost and what rpms it was turning when it said 'turn me loose' ? Last edited by hardtimes; 07-28-2017 at 05:56 PM. Reason: ............... |

Re: Hosepower
I don't know, "B movies", watching Harry Potter all day, sitting around with nothing to do?
I can only guess what bores your engine.

Re: Hosepower
This is what "Going Way Beyond 40 Horsepower" Looks like!
I wonder what Henry Ford would say if he was still around to see this???? This is on the edge just when the "Pistons Start Swapping Holes"!!!

Whatever, but I think that guy is having more fun at work than I am!
His level of talent, expertise, and manufacturing resources seems enough to turn almost anything automotive that flits though his head into reality! |
