Default spiral core vs solid wires

I've been reading up on spark plug wires and understand the need for lower resistance on these older ignition systems - in our case it is a 59A, crab style distributor, coil with resistor to go to 12 V. I've searched through the posts here and it seems that solid would be best but that spiral also should work especially with 12 V coil. The spirals, where posted, seem to have 500 to 1000 ohms per foot. The solids don't note the ohms too often, but looking at copper wire in the 20 AWG range I guess that's because they are essentially under 0.1 ohm/ft.

Is there a noticeable difference in performance between them.

If you can, use solid copper wire.

If you are running an electronic ignition like Pertronix, they require resistance ignition cables. like the spiral wound you mentioned. When I switched back to a points distributer I switched back to copper cables. Ran fine but the ignition noise completely jammed my Sirrius satellite radio. So I put in a 1 foot section of the spiral wound between the coil and distributer. That was enough to completely suppress the static so now both the car and the radio run great.

This worked for me as well.

Slick idea, guys! Just about as good as the "Radio Delete" option.

Sounds like a winner to me. Thanks,
