Arrow 1932 Ford Shock Question

A friend of mine has a very nice 32 pickup without shocks. Will the Model A Ford shocks that Bill Stipe makes work and how close to original are they? What are the best arms and links available? I may try to run a wanted to buy add to see if any good originals are out there.

My understanding is that Stipe has stopped production. Not sure if the A will work on your deuce. Some of the vendors might still have some stock. Try Bill Wzorek (?) for info as he is a go to guy for shocks here. Others will chime in I'm sure.

I have '49 Mercury rear shocks on the front of my '32 Ford. I can post some pictures of them if you like. I ordered replacements a few years back from NAPA. They had them ready for pick up the next day.

I have an original A shock beside an original 32 shock on the bench. Same "footprint" but the 32 is 1/4 inch higher. Both shocks have a square end shaft protruding. Arms are almost the same except for a "shoulder" on the A arm that the 32 doesn't have. Links from later A or 32 should have no problem making up the 1/4 difference in shock height.
