Default Re: Ignition Wiring Problem Reverting to Points System

Hi Mitch

Pardon my ignorance a little further, do I need the terminal box connection to be moved over to the positive side or is it not required?

The original instructions I was working to are:

The points terminal on your distributor plate connects eventually to the positive coil post after going through the ignition switch.

The negative side of the coil goes to the driver’s side junction box terminal .

Having a 12v system you MUST make sure your coil measures 3.0 OHM’s. This measurement is made using a good quality OHM meter between the two threaded coil posts.

Can I assume this was for a positive earth setup?

Thanks again for your help, it's been a long day!

Regards

Kevin
