Psavello - I literally just went through this last week/weekend for the first time. The small arm is under tension. You won't get anything adjusted without the jack. Put the jack under the arm (not the housing) and lift it about 1/4 - 1/2 inch. That's all. Then you'll find that removing the cotter and clevis pins are relatively easy. Keep the jack there, though, because when you adjust the rod and try to realign it with the arm, it won't happen unless you have the arm jacked up a bit. Good luck!
