I have no idea what you are trying to say here, but it looks to me like the greedy American companies are trying to take advantage of the current situation. With the current level of interest in flatheads, they should be cranking these out like cookies. But nope, all of a sudden you can't get them and if you can, the prices are outrageous. Perhaps if the Chinese (Vietnamese, Indians, Cambodians, or whoever) would get into the market, it would give the American manufacturers the kick in the ass they need.
Two years ago, I wanted a set of header for my engine test stand. On a chance, I ordered a set of stainless steel "center dumps" off eBay for $89.95. The headers were perfect; the only problem is that the fasteners they sent with them were metric! A quick trip to the local hardware store solved that problem in a New York second. After this experience, there is no way I would pay $400 or more for a set of headers, just because they were made in America.
This really has nothing to do with politics, international relations, or anything like it. This is Corporate American Greed, pure and simple, and as soon as we realize it, we may be able to get this country back on the right track again.
