Default Re: 1933 Headlight Stainless Repair

As for the dent repair portion, I use a square plastic dowel that has been rounded at one end, I have another one that is more pointed (plastic like the thick white kitchen cutting boards are made of). I use a smallish ball pein hammer and light taps behind the dent on a table or workbench with a piece of 2X4 underneath the dent, then take a double smooth machinist file and file over the dent a few strokes at a couple of few different directions, (I also have a very thin smooth pocket type file for curved pieces like your head light bucket that will flex to the contour) you'll see the low spot, hammer again, file again and repeat till you have the dent completely removed. Then I use 180, 320 and 400 to sand out the file mark's then buff it!!!
