Default Storing an engine upside down.

I just bought an old 59 motor. The top end was really rough. The heads were hard to get off and the pistons are all seized. I expected the worst when pulling the pan. Imagine my surprise when I found it all looking really nice inside. Most importantly, no freeze cracks around the pan rail area. So after an initial disappointment with the state of this motor, after seeing the bottom end, I feel there is life in the old girl yet.

No plans for it at the moment, but I did want to assess it before putting it away.

So if anyone is storing old motors out in the wild, out of doors, upside down seems the least destructive orientation.

No pics at the moment but it will probably feature in one of my videos.

Cheers!

Mart.
