Thanks again for all the help.
The T-Bird engines with Y-block had a blanking plate where the hole is at the front driver side of the engine, but they added a tube in the back that wrapped around and terminated in the rear of the valley pan. All Y-blocks had positive crankcase ventilation. Y-blocks were discontinued in cars in 1962 and 1964 was the last year for the truck 292 Y-block.
Emissions control devices were not employed till somewhere around 1970.
Federal mandate for auto manufacturers to install seat belts did not take effect until '64.
Oh, no, we didn't have air-bags, computerized ignition, fuel injection, bluetooth connections either? However did we survive ??? (sarc)
