The friction of a modern lining material can be way better then the old ones.
It`s the endurance combined with friction that is hard to beat with asbestos.
Since we don´t put to many miles on the cars endurance isn´t an issue...so go for a soft material...not one designed for powerbrakes...and you have all the stopping power yu ever need.
