1931 De Luxe Roadster – Canadian built (Windsor, Ontario). One of 1,973 built in Canada in 1931. This is a high points vehicle with a top score of 480 points.

Vehicle/Engine Serial Number: CAS5495 (May 1931)
Mileage: 292 miles
Asking price: $49,500

Restoring this roadster took over six years from the ground up and included every screw, nut, bolt and washer! Restoration took longer than the average USA Model A, because of the extremely limited supply of original Canadian parts. Canada’s production of Model A’s was 1/6th that of USA production, with an estimated 273,000 total units over four years. Thirty percent of Canadian production was exported to the British Commonwealth leaving a very limited inventory in Canada. Because of this, Canadian Model A’s are much more difficult and much more expensive to restore than their USA counterparts. Many parts, such as “Made in Canada” Champion 3X spark plugs, tire Stems, covers and caps are extremely rare.

Engine: Professional rebuilt 200.5 cubic inches Model A engine. Complete with shell bearings, balanced crank, high compression head and touring cam for improved performance and durability. This engine idols nicely and performs well on hills and at highway speeds. A complete engine build sheet is available upon request.

Paint: Professionally painted, the body, doors and deck lid were painted separately and then assembled. Once assembled the body paint was buffed, similarly to what was done originally at the Ford factory. Paint on the underside of the hood, engine side of the firewall, door openings, etc., has a slightly reduced sheen, as these areas were never buffed.

Paint Scheme: Body - Washington Blue with Rivera Blue Belt line.
Pin Stipe: Tacoma Cream
Wheels: Tacoma Cream
Fenders: Black

Transmission: Model A 3-speed Transmission (Mitchell Synchromesh)

Rear Axle: 3.54 gearing for increased highway speeds.

Brakes: The brakes are excellent, there tight and work as Ford had originally designed them. The few individuals who have driven this car since restoration have been very impressed with how well the original brakes work.

The roadster is located on Vancouver Island, near Victoria, British Columbia. I will assist with documentation should the car be exported to the USA or overseas.

There are very few Canadian Model A’s restored to this level. My asking price is less than half of what has been invested in this vehicle. Please email me at [email protected] or call (250) 655-1276 evenings after 5:00 pm PDST. Serious inquires only.
