Those/these instructions apply when the mount plate is vertical or close to vertical. (makes no difference on the 59AB)
If you want to get technical mount it facing to the front of the vehicle ( that side is slightly higher because of the angle the engine is installed at)

What if I have a 4" drop axle and a heavy rake. Lot of guys drill a couple holes in temps too. I would not worry about it. Don't overthink it.
