The horn button parts and the wire inside the light switch rod can develop problems over time. Connection of wires to the light switch can also develop problems due to the swampy location of the switch. A person can go to the switch and check the connection to the horn by grounding the contact or terminal for it on the switch contact plate. The tip of the horn rod wire may have deteriorated where it makes contact to the light switch contact plate.
