About 15 years ago I made a st of 1 piece valve guides for a fellow. He said the valves were made from stock early Ford engines and the onepiece guide was used to reduce oil burning. Can't find the name of this guy For those of you building these engines with split guides I suggest you pistall a thin film of RTV on the guide befor installing. I've done this several times and still do it on the one piece guide instead of the rubber "O" ring. Works like a charm, Simple.
