Re: Stromberg Carbs 81s 97s & 48s
The Stromberg model 40 was used in 1934. It is nearly identical to the 48 without any model marking and just a couple internal changes. Ford did not start introduction of the new year models with new carburetors, but phased the new Carbs. in service so there is some carry over into the next year.
The 97 offered slightly better gas mileage over the 48 and a summer and winter adjustment.
